My dog was my best friend. She was named Sweetie
She was a mixed breed. a Rottie and lab mix.
She loved me always kind and protected my children.
She was a stray dog finding her new home with me.
She was a loyal pet. Her love was unconditional for all of us.
Sweetie was my little guardian angel on four paws
When I fell to the ground, she'd use her body to protect my head
staying there till I woke up, She kept me from getting hurt worse.
She'd stay with me till I was better, Barking for help if she felt me get worse
Then licked my face or hands to try to bring me back to her.
No matter how bad I got or how long it took me to wake up.
God must have protected her like she did me. She never seemed to hurt.
See I grew up with uncontrolled epilepsy and would seize daily.
Someday remaining homebound because of the status epilepticus
Which is just a stupid term that really means endless seizures
One ends only to have another. Sometimes as many as 35 a day
So without any training, she found out how to warn me they would happen
even moving pillows to the floor hoping they'd be in the right place
just in case she couldn't get to the floor in time to protect me herself
She'd bark as loud as she could if no one came she'd bark again.
She was a healthy and happy dog and lived with us for the rest of her life
She didn't just guard my physical body but my mental state of mind
bringing me back to full consciousness to where I knew where I was
I had the worse kind of seizures and would often feel foggy most of the night.
She was one of the best pets I've ever had and truly miss her to this day.
I've had other dogs since her but none compares, or could replace her
Now I have just cats. Seven to be exact. But they're a different kind of pet
Though they show love and want to be loved it just isn't the same way.

I hope that is alright It took that many to try to describe my special angel.
